Week of Surprises--Monday

Chad and I thought it would be fun to plan a week of "stay-cations" the week after the girls got out of school.  There are alot of things to do here in Kansas, that our children LOVE, but we don't get to do them very often.  So we got to planning.

We told the kids that we were planning a week full of surprises to do together as a family.  Each day would be something new and they wouldn't know what our activity was until we arrived!  They were ThRiLeD!!!!

On Monday, May 30th (Memorial Day), we headed to Worlds of Fun.  This isn't really something new.  We have made it a tradition that we go to Worlds of Fun every Memorial Day.  Surprisingly, it is never busy.  We love us some roller-coasters.

Seeing as I was pregnant (and one of the biggest roller coaster fanatics alive), I had to sit back and watch Chad take the girls on ALL of the fun rides.  It's okay.  The kids had a blast.

The girls wanted to try out a roller coaster first, so Charlie and I hung out together.  He decided he wanted me to take pictures of him over and over again while he changed face expressions each time.  You gotta love this boy....

This was Charlie's all time favorite ride.  I was actually shocked that he was tall enough to ride on it.  He was holding on for dear life, but he couldn't stop laughing!

Side note to why Charlie has a pink car:  Rylee had the pink car first and realized it was a bit slower and older than the others, so she decided to make an exchange with Charlie.  Charlie will usually do whatever his sisters tell him too.  They can be quite bossy  persuasive.

We then made it over to the kiddie rides.  Rylee and Sophie weren't too thrilled, but everyone needs to have a chance at their own age appropriate rides, right?  By the end though, they were enjoying themselves......somewhat.

"The Detonator"
Maybe someone should hold daddy's hand????

What a fun day.  Everyone was exhausted by the time we got home (and sticky, smelly, and dirty).  After baths, we had a quick dinner and crashed for the night!
