At the end of August, the girls and I flew out to Utah (Chad met up with us that weekend). We had a blast.
My Mom and Dad were going to be in Utah to help my youngest sister, Kelli, get started at school, AND my dad wanted to attend the first BYU football game. It just so happened that these events landed on his 50th birthday! So my mom flew us all out to surprise him. We stayed at Shayna and Kevin's in Orem. So here's the low down on the trip....
Tuesday (8-28)....
The girls had so much fun playing with Asher and Malcom. They jumped on the outdoor and indoor trampoline, went swimming outside, picked Asher up from pre-school, visited Jeff and Brooke's home, and went to Thanksgiving Point. They had a fun filled week.
Friday....
We met up at Kelli's apartment and surprised my dad!! We went to eat at Red Robin and Chad's flight was slightly delayed. But he did get to the restaurant in time to eat with the fam.
Saturday....
Met up with my family to "tailgate" outside the BYU stadium. We had fried chicken and mashed potatoes...a true southern meal to make us fell right at home! Then we got into the stadium and watched BYU kick Arizona's behind. It was a great game, despite the fact that it was hotter than a bottle of tabasco outside! At times the heat made it hard to sit and watch the game. Then after the game we drove to Alpine where my Aunt Aundrea and Uncle Jayson live. We had another surprise for my dad. We threw him a party that night!! He also had no idea that his parents and all siblings... (minus Mike and Jill, we missed you guys)...we were there. He was so surprised. It was a lot of fun. Aundrea did a fabulous job decorating her yard to look like a football field. It was awesome. We ate, visited and then went inside to play a family favorite....THE MONEY GAME!!!! It was a blast, but guess who ended up winning it all.....DAD! Which worked out I guess since he is the birthday boy. Happy Birthday Dad.
Sunday....
We spent the morning and rest of the afternoon with Chad's family. They were so kind to drive down from Rexburg. It was fun to see them, Troy and Jana, and Bev. We all met up and went to a fun little park and had a picnic. The girls enjoyed swinging on the tire swing and going down the slides. Chad enjoyed catching up with his family. He's always so happy to see them. Later that day we went to Kari and Brandon's new home and ate dinner. Rylee and Sophie had fun because they were able to see their new little kitten. Then after dinner we went back to Alpine for a fun filled night of karoake!!! Now that was fun!!
Monday.....
Chad and I spent our last day visiting some of our most dear friends. It was fun to see Greg and Jamie, Jeff and Brooke, and spend the late nights with Shayna and Kevin.
On Monday evening we drove up to Brigham City to my grandmother's home there. We spent the rest of our Labor Day eating and visiting with my mom's side of the family. We don't get to get together very often and so it was great to see how all my cousin's were doing and how big their children have gotten. The best was trying to get a picture of all the great-grandchildren. How fun.
It was a fun trip and we had a blast visiting with everybody there. Below are is a video I put together of our trip. Remember to pause the music on my blog before starting the video. Thanks to all of you who contributed to the amazing fun we had while we were there....and thank you Shayna and Kevin for letting us invade your home for a week. We all ready miss everybody and hope to see you all again soon. We love you!
