Make New Friends, But Keep The Old

We had some dear friends who lived here in Kansas with us that had moved a couple of years ago.  Our children were inseparable.  In December of 2009, they moved back to Utah.  It was a sad, sad day for all of us!!

They've been back to visit once before, but this very last time they came out to visit, the kids had the time of their life!

We took the kids to Chick-fil-a for dinner and then we headed down south.  Their dad, Ken, went to school with a lady who has a TON of horses.  She was so kind to let us bring all 7 kids to run around in their backyard and play with the miniature ponies.  The kids would not leave that backyard for anything.  They were having a blast!!!

Then the owner of the horses (I totally forgot her name, so sorry), saddled up the big horses and kids rode around on the horse for at least an hour.  While some kids were riding the big horse, the others were playing with the miniature ones (or torturing the dogs).

Allison (who is Rylee's age), was riding the horse and all of a sudden the horse must of gotten spooked or something.  It kinda freaked all of us out there for a little bit.  No worries, she didn't get hurt.  Whew!

Oh my goodness!!!  This sweet woman definitely knows how to make these kiddos happy.  Not only do they have miniature horses, but she also has a small buggy for the horses to pull.  The kids were in HEAVEN!

BEST FRIENDS

This is Garrin.  I'm not sure if you remember, but when this family first moved into our ward, he had a HUGE crush and Sophie.  It was fun to see them reunite.  They got on and road the horse together.  One of his sister told him to wrap his arms around Sophie.............haha

This was his reaction.......

Sweet Alexa has loved and taken good care of Charlie ever since he was born.  I didn't even have to watch Charlie while we were there, because I knew Alexa wasn't going to leave his side.

Then this wonderful lady told the kids that it was time to have a pony race.  She hooked up ropes to each pony and the kids had a relay race with them to see which horse was the fastest.  Again, the kids were in heaven.

As you can see, we were there until dark.  The kids started running around chasing lightening bugs.  It's so amazing to see what little things can bring children he most joy.  It almost makes me want to live out in the country..........almost.........
