New Year's Eve

After our week in Louisiana, we came back home to celebrate New Year's in Kansas.

It was fun to start a new tradition with our kiddos this year.  Chad had picked up some fun New Year's party hats.  The kids loved them!  We played Wii for most of the night together.

Rylee and Sophie were having so much fun together.  I love seeing them act so kindly towards each other.  This is one of my favorite pictures of the night.

Then Chad and I surprised the kids with a piñata.  They were screaming and jumping around, they could hardly contain themselves.

Another one of my favorites.

Getting ready to take a swing.  Can you tell by the look on his face that he is truly pondering how and where to hit that thing so he can break it open first?

Sophie was using one hand at first!  Chad instructed her to put BOTH hands on the bat so she could get more "bat swing".  She listened to wise old dad, and got better results.

Love this action shot of Rylee.  She was determined to get that thing open!

Noise makers are the best!

We went outside and annoyed our neighbors for a few minutes with confetti poppers and noise makers.

We went back inside to watch a movie until we got closer to midnight.  Sad to say that none of us made it to the New Year.  We were tired!

Farewell 2011!
Happy 2012!

Happy New Year Y'all!
